The assessment of the impact of the navigation conditions of the Putian project channel has been approved by the Ministry of Transport
The Ministry of Transport has issued the "Review and Approval of the Impact of the Navigation Conditions of the Hanas Putian Liquefied Natural Gas Receiving Station Project" (Jiaoshuichu [2023] No. 146), providing a review of the impact of the project on the navigability conditions, and serving as a basis for determining safety measures during the construction and operation of the project, which is of great significance to the safety of navigation and the construction of waterways.
Since the submission of the project's navigability impact report for review, the Ministry of Transport, Fujian Provincial Department of Transport, Port and Shipping Administration, Maritime Safety Administration, Xiamen Beidou Navigation Aids Station and other relevant departments have thoroughly understood the needs of enterprises, given professional guidance throughout, and helped guide enterprises to improve their quality and efficiency, supporting high-quality development.
The impact assessment of navigability conditions is based on the "Maritime Law of the People's Republic of China" and "Administrative Measures for the Review and Approval of Impact Assessments of Navigability Conditions". It aims to provide review and approval opinions on the engineering site selection, technical requirements for navigability conditions, and measures for ensuring navigational safety for projects involving waterways. This approval points out that the construction and operation of the Putian project have minimal impacts on adjacent harbor basins and channel erosion, water flow conditions, seabed evolution, and that the project site selection and overall layout comply with the "Maritime Lanes Navigation Standard" (JTS180-3-2018), satisfying the navigational requirements for LNG ships and other ships in Meizhou Bay.
Putian Company will strictly follow the requirements of the opinions to carry out construction work and manage the ship traffic during operation. It will also cooperate with relevant departments to complete the construction of supporting waterways, ensuring that construction progresses efficiently while also maintaining the safety of the surrounding environment and adjacent projects, promoting coordinated regional economic development.
